Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Rockford, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
This project involves the replacement, repair, and restoration of the wash bay drain at the City Yards. All contracts for the construction of public works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Under the direction of the City of Rockford Property Maintenance Supervisor, the work to repair the drain and washbay shall consist of the following: 3.1.1 Remove and replace +/- 90 LF of main grated drain. 3.1.2 Remove all existing grates; new cast grates to be used. 10LF of spare grates to be provided 3.1.3 Cut back 16" on both sides of the drain, with a minimum depth of 12" for the re-pour. 3.1.4 All project rubble to be removed/hauled off site. 3.1.5 Bottom of drain pan to remain clean and free of rubble or wash out 3.1.6 Rebar and/or mesh with pinning if necessary with the new pour. 3.1.7 New stainless-steel angle iron to accept the new grates. 3.1.8 Concrete type used must support the weight of tandem axel dump or wheel loader weight. 3.1.9 The wash bay will be shut down for the duration of the project. 3.1.10 Sealant to be applied to new concrete to keep salt residue from damaging surface. 3.1.11 Project dates to be coordinated with City of Rockford staff and contractor (ideal scenario is July 15-31 for pour). 3.1.12 Contractor responsible for cleanout of any material that falls in drain during the repair process. 3.1.13 6x20 cut out repair area in wash bay to be included 3.1.14 55' CMU block wall (10' high) pinned but not filled with two door openings and 5 linteled openings for us to access at a later date. 3.1.15 Doors to be hot dipped galvanized or an alternative moisture resistant material (COR will provide door locks) All questions shall be directed to Vishruti Patel, Financial Analyst, at Vishruti.patel@rockfordil.gov Questions shall be received in writing until May 26,2026; no questions may be submitted after this date. Questions will be answered via addendum no later than May 28,2026. Any oral communications will be considered unofficial and non-binding.
