Work consists of construction of 1,579 linear feet of 8-inch diameter waterline, connections to existing waterlines, valves, fire hydrants, and abandonment of existing waterline and valves. No bid will be considered unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by cash, a check payable to the City of Loma Linda and certified by a responsible bank for an amount which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the bid or by a bond for the amount over and above all statutory exemptions, or by a bond of an accredited surety company. The check or bond will be declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) calendar days following receipt of the contract from the City. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a labor and materials bond and a faithful performance bond in the amount equal to 100% each of the contract prices, such bonds to be secured by a surety company or surety companies satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Loma Linda. For any monies earned by the Contractor and withheld by the City of Loma Linda to ensure the performance of the contract, the Contractor may, at his request and expense, substitute securities equivalent to the amount withheld in the form and manner and subject to the conditions provided in Chapter 13 (commencing with Section 4590) Division 5, Title I of the Government Code of the State of California. The successful bidder must possess a Class A, Engineering, or Class C-34, Pipeline, or an appropriate specialty Contractor's license at the time of award of this contract. Plans and specifications shall be purchased from the City of Loma Linda Finance Department, 25541 Barton Road, Loma Linda, 92354, (909) 799-2840, at the following fees: $15.00 Electronic Copy; $30.00 to pick up; $40.00 FEDEX using recipient's account; or $56.00 to receive by USPS first class mail.
