Site work and paving for a transportation facility in New Hanover, New Jersey. Working plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
The work consists of construction services to convert two nonfunctioning Hot Cargo Loading Area pads into a single Unified Facilities Criteria compliant Hot Cargo Loading Area pad. The project includes construction of airfield pavement with 50-foot asphalt shoulders designed to accommodate C-5 and 747 aircraft, with pavement consisting of 19.5 inches of Portland cement concrete over a 6-inch cement-treated base and an 8-inch cement-modified subgrade. Shoulder construction includes a 1.5-inch hot mix asphalt wear course, a 2.5-inch hot mix asphalt base, and a 6-inch graded crushed aggregate layer. The scope also includes construction of a new taxiway with 25-foot shoulders connecting to Taxiway Lima, installation of shoulder lighting and pavement markings, construction of exterior lighting, and construction of a de-icing area including drainage infrastructure and containment of de-icing fluids. The contract will be firm fixed price with phased construction and a total performance period of 720 calendar days. The project magnitude is between $15 to $30 million.
