The Project will consist of approximately 224,630 square yards of Bituminous Surface Treatment (chip seal) and other related and incidental items in Monroe County, WI in accordance with the bidding documents. Proposal must be submitted in a sealed envelope labeled '2026 Bituminous Surface Treatment' and shall be submitted to the Monroe County Highway Department at 803 Washington St, Sparta, WI 54656. Such request must be received at least three (3) days prior to the date fixed for opening bids The project will also include restoration of Interior Road in the Town of Wilton between County Trunk Highway (CTH ) A and the Wilton & Tomah town line , 1.03 miles in length . Interior Road was used as an unofficial haul route for a bridge replacement project on Interior Road in the Town of Tomah and suffered resultant distress . Restoration will include pulverization and relaying of the existing surface , base correction (removal and replacement of unsuitable materials ), finish grading (preparation of foundation ) and BST . The Town may elect to place additional aggregate surfacing on the roadway prior to finish grading and surfacing . The BST will be constructed in two applications , one in 2026 and one in 2027 following any base corrections identified at that time .
