The Contractor shall remove all existing concrete slab, asphalt, loam, stump, and soil shall be removed and disposed of off-site. The Contractor shall then excavate a haunch approximately 3 feet wide and 2 feet deep around the full perimeter of the building footprint, along with two (2) parallel internal haunches, each 2 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and 40 feet in length, within an overall excavation area of 42 feet by 50 feet. Following excavation, the Contractor shall supply, install, and compact 12 inches of processed gravel across the entire floor area, followed by fine grading and compaction of the subbase. All surplus materials generated by the Contractor shall be disposed of off-site. The Contractor shall then install approximately 2,100 square feet of 6-inch-thick concrete slab reinforced with fiber mesh, with a 3-foot by 2-foot haunched perimeter edge for frost protection. Concrete shall achieve a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 PSI. Saw-cut expansion and contraction joints shall be placed on an approximate 20-foot by 20-foot grid to minimize cracking and differential settlement. The finished slab shall receive a steel trowel finish and one (1) coat of liquid curing and sealing compound.
