The work includes site preparation and construction of new pre-fabricated shade structures at USD 305 Stewart Elementary School, Salina, KS. The structures are to be powder coated tube steel with standing seam metal roofs. The scope further includes earthwork such as site excavation, LVC and crushed concrete base installation and compaction, concrete sidewalks and slabs at various areas for pedestrian access, construction of shelter/pavilion footings and foundations (to be designed and sealed by the manufacturer’s Kansas licensed structural engineer and approved by the City), installation of gutters and downspouts by the general contractor, and fence work associated with temporary and permanent access. General construction, site utility, site structures, fencing, and seeding are all included under one contract, with the General Contractor responsible for all work. As a condition for award, the Owner will carefully consider the type of work completed and proposed subcontractors. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Proposal security in the amount of 5% of the proposal must accompany each bid. Bidders are expected to be familiar with the site prior to bidding. Electronic drawings and specifications are available for review. Those bidding from electronic documents must register as an official Plan Holder. Refund of deposit for hard copy documents is conditional on timely return in good condition. The Owner is not obligated to accept the lowest bid.
