Renovation of a mixed-use development in Institute, West Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 4,200-square-foot laboratory facility.
The purpose of this project is for the West Virginia State University Research and Development Corporation to identify and select the most qualified Architectural and Engineering (A/E) team with demonstrated experience in the design, preparation of construction documents, and construction administration services required for the renovation of Building A. The renovation is anticipated to include upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems; building envelope improvements (including roof, windows, and doors); and interior renovations such as restrooms, offices, and laboratory spaces. The renovation is anticipated to be implemented through a phased approach to accommodate ongoing operations and project complexity. Qualified firms are invited to submit statements of qualifications in accordance with the requirements set forth. Submissions will be evaluated based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated competence. The Corporation may conduct interviews with the most qualified firms and will rank firms in order of preference. The Corporation will then enter into negotiations with the highest-ranked firm to establish a fair and reasonable scope of services and fee, consistent with applicable West Virginia law. If negotiations are unsuccessful, the Corporation may proceed to negotiate with the next highest-ranked firm. Location: Building A is located on the campus of West Virginia State University, situated between Interstate 64 and the Kanawha River. The building is located on the lot behind the Dr. Hazo W. Carter, Jr. Integrated Research and Extension Building on 200 Avenue A, Institute, WV 25112.
