The Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to extend the life of the existing roofs at the Lee County Resource Recovery Facility by applying a high-quality roof coating. Question Deadline 06/15/2026 at 5:00 PM ET Questions regarding this solicitation are to be submitted electronically 3.1 Material Recovery Facility Roof Coating (Approx. 75,000 Sq. Ft.) and Transfer Station Roof Coating (Approx.40,000 Sq. Ft.) 3.1.1 Roof Surface Preparation 3.1.1.1 Inspect the entire roof surface for structural integrity and suitability for coating. 3.1.1.2 Remove debris, dirt, algae, mildew, and any loose material from the roof surface. 3.1.1.3 Power wash the roof (as required) to ensure proper adhesion of the coating. 3.1.1.4 Allow the roof to dry completely before proceeding with the application. 3.1.2 Repairs 3.1.2.1 Seal all visible cracks, seams, blisters, and penetrations using approved patching materials. 3.1.2.2 Reinforce seams and flashing with polyester fabric or reinforcing tape embedded in a compatible base coat. 3.1.3 Materials 3.1.3.1 Roof coating products: 3.1.3.1.1 Primers, sealants and reinforcement fabrics are required by the manufacturer. 3.1.3.1.2 All materials to meet applicable ASTM or industry standards. 3.1.4 Application of Rubber Roof Coating 3.1.4.1 Apply primer, if required by the manufacturer or recommended by inspection. 3.1.4.2 Apply roof coating per manufacturer's specifications using appropriate equipment (e.g., rollers, brushes, or spray systems). 3.1.4.3 Ensure uniform coverage at the recommended mil thickness (typically 20-30 mils). 3.1.4.4 Apply multiple coats if specified in the product data sheet or contract. 3.1.5 Quality Assurance 3.1.5.1 Conduct interim inspections during the coating process. 3.1.5.2 Perform final inspection upon completion to ensure proper adhesion, coverage, and finish.
