The City of Shelby is requesting bids for the Hendrick Basin Outfall Sewer Replacement Project, located near 406 Floyd Street. The work will occur within the sewer right-of-way and will not require trench pavement repair. The project bid will be a unit price bid, and bidders must use the provided bid form. The contractor is responsible for utility locates per the NC Underground Utility Safety and Damage Prevention Act. A one-year warranty is required starting from Final Completion. A preconstruction meeting will be required before construction starts. Sealed bids must be delivered to the City of Shelby Utility Operation Center by the specified deadline. Replace 500 feet of the existing 10 - inch VCP with a new 10 - inch SDR21 PVC pipe . Replace one ( 1) existing brick manhole with a new four -foot diameter precast manhole . Manhole Depth range is 0-6 feet . Approximate depth of the existing manhole is 4.6 feet . Replace two (2) existing brick manholes with new four -foot diameter precast manholes . Manhole Depth range is 6-13 feet . Approximate depth of each of the two existing manholes are 13 feet and 9.5 feet . Install 12 -gauge solid copper tracer wire on all newly installed sewer main . Bypass pumping and equipment . Sewer Service Reconnections , with new cleanouts , to the new sewer main . If Applicable the sewer services shall be installed to five (5 ) feet behind the existing curb or edge of asphalt . A new clean out shall be installed at the back of the curb or asphalt before re - connecting to the existing service line
