Question Deadline 05/21/2026 at 4:00 PM ET Odom Engineering will address questions concerning the construction and bid documents up until May Attention: David Odom; Project Manager Odom Engineering Phone (828)247-4495 Email: davidodom@odomengineering.com Or malarie@odomengineering.com General Work Description o Grading, Prep, and Installation of 2,050 Linear Feet of Sidewalk ( 1,140 SY) o Installation of 16 ADA Ramps ( 140 SY ) o Final grading, stabilization and seeding PROJECT BONDING: There will be no performance or bid bonds required for this project. PROJECT CONDITIONS: o Work to be performed on private properties. o The contractor will be responsible for calling in utility locates. o Changes may be made to layout with approval from the OWNER and ENGINEER. o A preconstruction meeting will be required. o Project bid will be a unit price bid in accordance with detailed plans and bid forms. Submitters must use the bid forms provided. o The bidders offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. o Contractor must start project within 30 days of Notice to Proceed. The OWNER will require contractors to complete the project within forty-five (45) consecutive days after mobilization and be ready for final payment within sixty (60) consecutive days after NTP. Weather days will be determined and assessed as needed. o The contract award will be based on the total project bid. o The OWNER reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers, and award jobs individually based on the bids and available funds. o A Certificate of Insurance will be required from the low bidder prior to beginning construction. OWNER requires that insurance coverage list the City of Shelby as the Certificate Holder and include the following statement: "City, its Officers, Agents and Employees are named as additionally insureds with respects to General Liability where required by written contract." o A $250 per day liquidated damages clause will be included in the contract. o OWNER acknowledges that the project will carry a one (1) year warranty beginning at the end of the project. Bid submittal shall include the Bid Form provided by Odom Engineering and proof of a valid contractor's license in the State of North Carolina. Bids are to be delivered as sealed bids to the City of Shelby Utility Operation Center.
