Provide professional construction services to replace refrigeration system components to ensure reliability, compliance, and operational continuity for the Kitchen, Canteen, and Lab walk-in cold storage units. Work includes demolition and replacement of existing refrigeration system components, excluding the walk-in insulated panels, for four walk-in refrigerators and three freezers serving the Kitchen and Canteen, and one walk-in refrigerator serving the Lab. The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, supervision, and personnel necessary to remove existing condensing units, evaporators, and line sets, and install new condensing units, evaporators, and line sets for each individual walk-in system. Work also includes installation of all required electrical and control components such as thermostats, defrost controls, fan controls, safety switches, associated wiring, and new door seals on all walk-ins. Damaged flooring in walk-ins 1328, 1328A, 1330, 1330A, 1314, and 1314A shall be replaced. New walk-in controls shall be integrated with the building automation system for front-end monitoring. Additional work includes removal or installation of condenser pads as required, crane services as necessary, and coordination of phased work to minimize disruption to VA operations. All work shall be performed during off-hours, comply with VA security requirements, infection control and dust mitigation protocols, and meet all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
