The scope includes preparation of engineering calculations and construction documents compliant with OSHA, OHS, VA Master Specifications, and VA Design Guides, with the objective of reducing vehicle-pedestrian conflicts, enhancing accessibility, and protecting Veterans and staff from extreme heat. Work includes parking lot reconfiguration, installation of shade structures, associated site improvements, and all required construction period services. The design-build contractor is responsible for providing complete design drawings, construction specifications, and engineer calculations, and for executing construction in accordance with approved documents, applicable codes including IBC, NFPA, and OSHA, and Davis-Bacon wage requirements. The project will be executed using a parallel design and construction approach and shall result in a fully functional, code-compliant parking facility that supports a safe, accessible, and comfortable healthcare environment.
