The work consists of pavement and parking area improvements requiring design, inspection, site preparation, slurry seal, milling and overlay, full-depth pavement replacement, curbs, grading, striping, and signage. The scope includes surveying the site and developing grading and striping plans in Civil 3D to increase parking lot depth, reconfigure parking rows and aisles, and provide flush curb installations with proper drainage. Demolition includes removal of existing asphalt paving, base materials, curbs and gutters, planters, trees, roots, stumps, concrete wheel stops, and associated features. Subgrade preparation requires compaction to 95 percent, placement and compaction of aggregate base, and proof rolling prior to paving. Asphalt paving includes placement and compaction of hot mix asphalt in lifts with tack coat and positive drainage. Concrete work includes installation of flush PCC curbs with reinforcing steel and planter edge construction. Pavement marking and signage include double line striping, replacement striping, and installation of van-accessible ADA parking stalls with required markings and signage, all in accordance with applicable Caltrans standards.
