Reference Number 0000426300 This project is to provide the design and replacement of comfortable and accessible seating upgrades for the Nancy Peery Marriott Auditorium within Kingsbury Hall. The building, situated within the University of Utah Presidents Circle District, is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Auditorium currently has fixed seating that needs to be upgraded with a minimum seat width of 20 and accommodate ADA and bariatric options while maintaining or enhancing sightlines throughout for patrons and to drive revenue. The floors need to be assessed, and analysis provided in regard to recommendations for repair, resurfacing, replacement or a combination of these strategies with a cost estimate for all options provided broken down for consideration. All removable seating should be replaced including the orchestra pit and running loge. The University will provide a Lidar scan of the floors once seating is removed for design integration and coordination. Consultants are encouraged to provide additional verification of existing conditions. Implementation of a comprehensive, controlled aisle lighting system is being considered, and options will need to be provided with cost estimates of each option for consideration. The University intends to put the design out for bid with several add alternates to maximize the value within the budget constraints.
