The project involves manually cutting up to 40 acres of trees and shrubs, along with applying cut stump herbicide in and along ditches in specified areas of scrub at the Lake Monroe Conservation Area. The contractor must manually cut down all trees and shrubs, whether live or dead, inside and adjacent to drainage ditches and along wetland edges in the project area. Chainsaws and hand cutting equipment are to be used, with all trunks cut flush with the ground or water level, as applicable. Cut material is to be left on-site, except that debris must be cleared from fire breaks, trails, and removed from ditches. All stumps of non-native and resprouting species (including but not limited to Brazilian pepper, lantana, oak species, sweetgum, and wax myrtles) are to be treated with chemicals supplied by the District. The contractor is responsible for planning and adjusting equipment, staff, and chemical applications according to rainfall and fluctuating water levels. A field supervisor with a valid Florida Pesticide Applicators License for Natural Areas is required. Respondents must submit a complete package addressing all elements of the scope of work and comply with specified requirements and terms.
