The project involves the renovation of the East Cocopah Lift Station. The work includes installation of two 4’ diameter sanitary manholes and approximately 90 linear feet of gravity sewer main with a depth ranging from 11 to 15 feet. The scope requires connection to the existing sanitary sewer system and includes provision for temporary sewer bypass as needed. A new duplex sanitary sewer lift station will be installed adjacent to the existing lift station, followed by demolition of the current lift station and gravity lines once the new system is operational. The installation includes two submersible pumps, discharge valves and pipings, an 8’ diameter fiberglass wetwell (approx. 20.5 feet deep) supplied by the pump manufacturer, a 12’ diameter concrete base, a 6-foot thick anti-floatation concrete column attached to the wetwell, concrete slabs for the wetwell, force main discharge piping, a generator, and an electrical rack as indicated in the plan, as well as site grading, a new chain-link fence, erosion control, and all required civil and mechanical work. Additional scope includes a new pump control panel, lift station control equipment, SCADA monitoring unit, 30kW generator, automatic transfer switch, and all required electrical work. The project also includes installation of 55 linear feet of new 6” sewer force main at a depth of 3 feet, with valves and connection to the existing force main system. Site geotechnical conditions indicate groundwater at 25 feet and the need for shoring at deep excavation. The expected duration of the contract is 270 days.
