Sealed bids are requested for the construction of a building addition for a new athletic facility at Midwest Central High School. Bid packages cover the following work: site demolition, earthwork, site utilities (water, storm, sewer), site concrete and asphalt pavement, building concrete, masonry, structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection, roofing, doors/frames/hardware (material only), general trades and interior demolition, aluminum windows/doors/storefronts, framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, painting, flooring, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC and temperature controls, electrical and fire alarm, athletic equipment, and bleachers. Bid documents are available from Midwest Construction Professionals. All questions must be submitted in writing. Bids must include bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check for 5% of the bid amount. Bids may not be withdrawn for 60 days after opening. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any bids, waive informalities, errors, or irregularities, and will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting specifications. The Project scope includes adding a new 10,350 SF Indoor Practice Facility to the existing high school. The facility will house basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts. This will be precast concrete wall panel building with steel joist and deck. A new brick-and-metal-panel wall corridor will connect the existing school to the new indoor practice facility. The scope also includes adding a new janitor room and storage adjacent to the existing music room. Existing boys' and girls' restrooms adjacent to the music room will be renovated to make it ADA complaint. . The project area is currently a green space located in the southeast area of the high school, to the south of the parking lot and five feet away from the greenhouse. There is an underground solar conduit running on the east side from the parking lot to the solar array fields.
