SEALED BIDS ARE HEREBY SOLICITED FOR THE CRUSHING OF BANK RUN GRAVEL AND WASTE STONE TAILINGS. Bids must be addressed to the Village Clerk and the sealed envelope plainly marked with the name of the item to be bid and the date of the bid opening. Bids must be detailed categorically in the same order as the specification. The bidder must be a duly authorized representative of their company for at least one year. If proposing to modify a product or service to meet requirements, the bidder must include a clear description and clearly mark any descriptive material to show modifications. Modifications after bid opening will not be considered. A non-collusion statement must accompany the bid(s). The Village reserves the right to reject apparent low bids if the bidder is not deemed responsible based on objective criteria including capabilities, experience, equipment, and qualifications. The Village reserves the right to reject any and all bids if it is in the best interest of the Village. All items in the specifications include the words "or approved equal"; bidders must submit detailed specifications and data on supplies and services proposed. Differences from the specification must be detailed, and such deviations should not depart from the intent of the specifications and must be in the best interests of the Village Board. All federal and state taxes will be excluded; tax exemption certificates will be furnished to the successful bidder. Description of Bid Items: Item #1: The cost for crushing bank run gravel into minus 1-1/2" crusher run. Item 4 crushed must meet all current NYSDOT specifications for Item 304.05. The cost includes one operator and excavator or loader to load the crushing plant and fuel costs. The Village will haul all necessary bank run gravel to the site. The contractor must also provide a front end loader and operator to remove final product and waste material from the plant. Final quantity is determined by loader buckets removed from each pile multiplied by cubic yards per bucket, as finalized by the Contractor and DPW Superintendent, or by a scale system built into the loader. Item #2: The cost for breaking and crushing boulders and stockpiled concrete roadway into 6” minus rubble. The cost includes one operator and excavator or loader to load the crushing plant and fuel costs. The contractor must also provide a front end loader and operator to remove final product and waste material. Final quantity is determined as above, by loader buckets or a scale system built into the loader.
