The work consists essentially of installing 85 ‘Acorn' light fixtures and 3 ‘Blue Security' lights along John R. Lynch Street between Dalton Street and University Boulevard, for a total project length of 0.5 miles. All other related items of work required to complete the project as shown and specified in the Contract Documents are included. The contractor is responsible for performing all work and furnishing all plant, labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and drawings referred to therein. Bidders are directed to the Contract Provisions governing selection and employment of labor, including minimum wage rates for Federal-Aid projects, as well as the requirements of the Work Hours Act of 1962. Disadvantaged and women's business enterprises are to be given full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check, or a bidder's bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid price as bid security. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract. The proposal and contract documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope or electronically as specified. Work must be performed in accordance with the “Mississippi State Highway Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2017,” including all amendments and special provisions, unless otherwise noted. Bidders are also directed to pay attention to provisions pertaining to irregular proposals and rejection of bids.
