Furnish and place approximately 11,388 SY Asphalt Seal Coat; 400 SY Asphalt Seal Coat Double Application; and 11,788 SY Asphalt Fog Seal. Performance bond and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract, as well as proof of worker's compensation insurance, are required from the lowest responsible bidder. Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the contracts is required of all bidders. All work and material must meet current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Specifications Form 408 and its Supplements. Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Municipality. The Municipality reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Asphalt Seal Coat This work is the application of emulsified asphalt, immediately followed by an application of course aggregate. Furnish and place an application of emulsified asphalt material, CRS-2PM Polymer-Modified Cationic Emulsified Asphalt, immediately followed by an application of Type A, No. 8 coarse aggregate SRL-L. All work and material in accordance with the current Publication 408 Section 470. Asphalt Seal Coat, Double Application This work is two applications of emulsified asphalt, each application of emulsified asphalt immediately followed by an application of course aggregate. Furnish and place two applications of emulsified asphalt material, CRS-2PM Polymer-Modified Cationic Emulsified Asphalt, immediately followed by an application of Type A, No. 8 coarse aggregate SRL-L for each lift. All work and material in accordance with the current Publication 408 Section 470. Fog Seal For Asphalt Seal Coats This work is the treatment of an asphalt seal coat with an application of asphalt material and an application of fine aggregate. All work and material in accordance with the current Publication 408 Section 472. All work must be completed in accordance with the current PennDOT Publication 408 Specifications and its supplement. Note Incidental to the above items is Mobilization, provide verifiable test results that show aggregate is clean, material finer than the 200 sieve does not exceed 1.0 percent; clean roadway prior to placement; provide affidavit showing aggregate and oil compatibility and Traffic Control according to the Publication 408 Section 901.
