Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Gimli, Manitoba. Completed plans call for site work for a 1,643-square-foot transportation facility.

The airport runway and airport taxiway apron area of the Gimli Industrial Park Airport require repairs. Approximately 1643 square meters of airport surfaces need asphalt re-surfacing repairs due to surface breaks and frost heaves. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com Question Deadline 06/30/2026 at 12:00 PM CT Questions or concerns in respect to the tender can be directed to: Brian Renaud Airport Manager Phone: (403) 641-3050 Email: airportmanager@rmgimli.com Repair of broken and loose concrete/asphalt surfaces at expansion joints of the aircraft maneuvering areas on the main runway and parking apron of the airport due to frost heaves and heat expansion. Specific work to all locations will require milling or grinding out the broken surface areas approximately 50 mm deep to clear and prepare the areas for the new asphalt patching. 2. Repairs required to approximately 284 individual locations, 7 lengths of frost heaves, and 2 pad areas totaling 1643 square meters of total surface repairs. 3. Asphalt resurfacing includes excavation of all loose broken concrete/asphalt debris from the work areas after the milling or grinding process. Application of tack bonding agent to all areas and resurface with a fine (1/4) hot mix asphalt. Coarser stone asphalt mix will be rejected. Smooth topcoat to LEVEL WITH SURROUNDING GRADE edges or lips at joints where new and old surfaces meet will not be accepted. 4. At no time will debris or loose material be allowed on any sections of the airport when work is in progress. All loose material, stones, and waste asphalt shall be removed from all surfaces of the airport IMMEDIATELY at the end of each work session. 5. All work areas will require placement of bright orange cones or pylons to readily identify to operating aircraft or airport vehicles that a work area is in progress. 6. Any work area left overnight for continuation in following days shall be marked with pylons or cones and light with hazard beacon lights at night.
