Repair deteriorated roof fascia with similar material, design and finish. b. Make sure roof no longer leaks. c. Prime, paint and caulk to match existing. 2. Gutters and Downspouts a. Replace damaged sections of gutters and downspouts with similar materials, styles and finishes. b. Reconnect existing portions of undamaged gutters/downspouts to new gutters and downspouts. c. Have downspouts drain water away from the house, possibly underground. 3. Wood Siding a. Carefully scrape loose peeling paint. b. Prime and repaint to match existing. c. Replacement siding on the front and sides may be existing siding salvaged from the rear of the building or from salvaged old growth wood that is milled and shaped to match historic shapes, profiles, and laps of the existing siding. d. New siding that replaces the siding on the rear façade where it was removed may be synthetic smooth faced siding material that matches the existing siding shape, profile and lap. e. Prime and paint to match existing. 4. Wood Trim at windows, doors, corners, turret, and fascia a. Carefully scrape loose peeling paint. b. Replace trim with new or salvaged old growth wood that is milled and shaped to match existing wood trim. c. Prime and paint to match existing. 5. Foundation a. Patch and repair cracked concrete foundation with similar materials b. Prime and paint to match existing
