This project involves upgrading the existing UV treatment system at the Newberry Township Wastewater Treatment Plant. Work shall include, but is not limited to, demolition of existing components, installation of a temporary bypass system, interior concrete work, building improvements, installation of the UV system, electrical distribution, and lighting system. a. General Contractor - Base Bid: 1. Compliance with the Water Quality permit includes in the Appendices. 2. Coordination with the Sewer Department, the third-party temporary and permanent UV System Vendor, Electrical Contractor, Building Code Official, and PaDEP as required to complete the project. 3. Installation of the bypass connection as shown on the plans. 4. Installation of the temporary aboveground water line for the existing belt filter press as shown on the plans. 5. Demolition and removal as shown on the plans. 6. UV Building Structural Improvements and raised floor as shown on the plans. 7. Installation of the UV Building Garage Door as shown on the plans. 8. Installation of the new metal ladder as shown on the plans. 9. Relocation of the sump pump. 10. Replumbing of the belt filter press water pump as shown on the plans. 11. Installation of the new UV system and all proposed piping and valves as shown on the plans. 12. Painting of the UV building as shown on the plans. 1. General Contractor - Alternate Bid: Replacement of the UV Building effluent pipe from the nearest joint outside the building to the proposed bypass connection location. 2. Installation of a permanent water line for the existing belt filter press and concrete vault between the clarifier and sludge dewatering building. c. Electrical Contractor - Base Bid: 1. Compliance with the Water Quality permit includes in the Appendices. 2. Coordination with the Sewer Department, General Contractor, Building Code Official, and PaDEP as required to complete the project. 3. Demolition and removal of all electric components as shown on the plan. 4. Installation of the temporary electrical service for the temporary UV system. 5. Installation of the temporary power for the temporary belt filter press pump. 6. Installation of the new electrical components and lights as shown on the plan. d. Electrical Contractor - Alternate Bid: 1.
