Demolition, site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Washington, Vermont. Completed plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Replace an undersized and perched culvert with a stream-compatible crossing to improve hydraulic capacity, reduce erosion potential, and restore aquatic organism passage. Work includes, but is not limited to: Installation and maintenance of erosion and sediment controls. Single lane traffic detour during construction. Dewatering and stream diversion as necessary. Removal and lawful disposal of the existing culvert. Excavation for the new crossing. Construction of streambed and channel approaches. Installation of the new crossing structure. Construction of headwalls and wingwalls. Placement of bedding materials and engineered streambed fill. Placement of stone slope protection. Restoration of disturbed areas.
