Renovation of a military facility in McConnell AFB, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The work consists of providing construction services to upgrade backflow preventer systems at multiple facilities. The contractor shall remove five existing backflow preventer systems of varying sizes and purposes and furnish and install five new systems. Tasks include proper sizing, connections, installation, and ensuring the completed systems are free of defects and leaks. The project requires installation and certification by a qualified tester in accordance with local regulatory requirements, including those established by the board of appeals of plumbers and gas fitters for the city of Wichita and Sedgwick County. Work includes replacement of a 6-inch fire suppression backflow preventer system in Building 33, a 4-inch fire suppression and double check valve system in Building 44, a 1-inch boiler makeup system in Building 44, a 4-inch fire suppression system in Building 48, and a 2.5-inch domestic water system in Building 65. Upon completion and certification, the contractor shall provide documentation for each system, including installation date, manufacturer, model, serial number, rebuild kit specifications, and system description.
