The City is soliciting proposals from qualified architectural and/or engineering firms to provide design services for an update to the existing IT Server and Communication Room as part of its Capital Improvement Program. This project is essential to enhance the operational efficiency and safety of our IT infrastructure. The selected consultant(s) will be responsible for ensuring that the design meets all applicable codes and standards while being practical and ready for implementation. Consultants are expected to include, at a minimum, a comprehensive fire suppression system design tailored to the unique needs of the server and communication rooms, ensuring compliance with applicable fire safety regulations. Additionally, the proposal should encompass the design specifications for anti-static flooring to prevent electrostatic discharge, thereby enhancing the safety and reliability of server operations. An assessment and design for seismic bracing solutions to secure the main servers against potential seismic activity is also required, ensuring structural integrity and operational continuity. Moreover, the proposal must recommend and design a new HVAC and chiller system to improve cooling efficiency and reliability, supporting optimal server performance. Where feasible, the design should provide for isolation of the space surrounding electronic equipment to improve cooling efficiency and environmental control. The proposal shall also include the design and installation of improved cable raceways to enhance cable management, accessibility, and future scalability. In addition, grounding for all network racks and associated equipment shall be evaluated and designed to provide adequate electrical protection, minimizing the risk of equipment damage resulting from power surges or other electrical incidents. Lastly, modifications to increase the roof height to facilitate improved cable organization, equipment clearances, and structural integrity should be included, promoting a safer, more efficient, and maintainable workspace. As part of the professional services, Consultant shall lead all coordination meetings. Deliverables include 100% construction drawings and specifications, bid schedules, and cost estimates. The consultant shall provide bidding assistance. The scope of work that consultants will include at minimum in their submittal shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following tasks: Consultants are encouraged to add to these tasks as deemed necessary but shall state as additional services.
