The Town of Savoy, Massachusetts, invites sealed bids from qualified roofing contractors for the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt shingle roofing system at the Savoy Town Hall , located at 720 Main Road, Savoy, Massachusetts. The project generally consists of the complete tear-off and replacement of the existing roof system, installation of new architectural asphalt shingles, underlayment, flashings, drip edge, and related roofing components. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and award the contract in the best interest of the Town. Main Roof Areas The two primary building roof sections are of similar size and configuration . Each section is approximately: 35 feet in length 18 feet from eave to ridge on each side Approximately 14 roofing squares per roof section Combined area of the two primary roof sections is approximately 28 roofing squares. Entrance Roof Areas The building also includes three covered entrance roofs requiring reroofing. The main front entrance roof is approximately: Gable roof design Projects approximately 6 feet from the building Approximately 5 feet from eave to ridge on each side Approximately 1 roofing square The remaining entry roofs shall be measured and verified by the contractor during site inspection and shall be included within the base bid. Estimated Roofing Quantity The Town estimates the project will require approximately 30 to 32 roofing squares of material, including waste factors, starter strips, ridge cap shingles, and normal overages. These quantities are estimates only. Contractors shall verify all dimensions and existing conditions prior to submitting a bid.
