Demolition, site work and new construction of a communication facility in Butner, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a communication facility; for the demolition of a communication facility; and for site work for a communication facility.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has the responsibility of constructing and maintaining the statewide, voice interoperable communications network for NC. This network is called the Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders (VIPER) and consists of local, state, and federal first responders. This project seeks a vendor through a competitive bid process to build a new Butner site and decommission the old tower site in Granville County, NC. The entire project shall be complete within approximately (3) months of award. The intent of this solicitation is to award an Agency Specific Contract. New build: 1. Vendor will order all materials for new tower and tower foundation per the tower procurement package document by ETS, the approved pad & pier tower design by World Tower Company, Inc. and all released documents provided as part of this bid. 2. Vendor will order materials and install all civil work per CD. Civil work encompasses everything from grounding, fencing, etc. identified in the CD. 3. Vendor will be responsible for coordinating with State Construction Office (SCO) for site inspection. Final SCO approval is needed prior to connecting power and startup of generator & UPS. 4. Vendor is responsible for the labor and equipment needed to offload the building and generator from the VFP truck onto the foundations. 5. The Vendor MUST contact the NCSHP engineer of record, ETS, prior to starting any work so that the engineer can stake the tower location. The tower staking will be at the expense of NCSHP. All expenses incurred due to the failure to contact ETS prior to work starting will be the responsibility of the Vendor. 6. As a minimum, the Tower shall be designed to the specifications outlined in the Butner Tower Procurement Package by Engineered Tower Solutions (ETS), as well as all released addendums. 7. All concrete will have a 30-day cure period prior to any weight bearing, no exception. 8. Vendor is responsible for all civil work outlined in the CD and tower manufacturer drawings, to include the road to the compound. 9. Vendor is responsible for the repair of any damage to access road caused during construction. proposed scope of work includes installing a new 380'-0" self-support tower, with a 11'-6"x19'-0" prefabricated equipment shelter and a generator, all within a new 65'-0"x65'-0" chain-link fenced compound.
