Site work and paving for a municipal facility in Ashland, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a municipal facility; and for paving for a municipal facility.
Installation of sidewalks, top soil placement, and site clearing for a scattered homes residential project. Addresses 50269 Poplar St. Odanah WI 73276 West Denomie St. Odanah WI 72982 Birch St. Odanah WI 72909 Maple St. Odanah WI Sidewalks - Sidewalks to be 4 ft. in width. - Strength: Minimum 4,000 psi (28-day compressive strength) for superior durability. Air entrainment is the responsibility of the Contractor. - Sidewalks to support existing steps under the first step from the bottom. - Subgrade: Must be free of organic matter, mud, and frost. It must be compacted to maximum density. - Drainage: Ensure the base is well-compacted and provides drainage to prevent water accumulation underneath the slab. Base to be 4 to 6 inches. Sub-base to be 3/4 " crushed stone. - Thickness: concrete 4 inches minimum for residential walking paths. - Concrete to be reinforced with 6"x 6" wire mesh and synthetic fiber. Slope concrete 1/4" per foot away from the home. - Use 3" of Type IV or Type VI Extruded Polystyrene XPS ridged foam under the concrete to prevent frost heaving. Minimum strength 25 psi. - Contractor to manage concrete temperatures if they exceed 80 degrees. Prevent rapid drying and curing. In cold temperatures that are below 40 degrees for more than 3 days you must follow cold-weather concrete procedures by the American Concrete Institute. - Contractor is responsible for the concrete until it is cured. - After all form boards are removed the contractor is responsible for placement of topsoil provided along the edges of the sidewalks or disturbed area. Contractor is to plant seeds and cover with a biodegradable seed mat or blanket pinned to the earth in all disturbed areas. - Control joints to be placed no more than 4 ft. apart. Depth to be at least 4 the thickness of the slab. Joints to be cut and filled with a self- leveling polyurethane sealant. Use a backer rod if needed. Joints must be cleaned with compressed air prior to filling. Note: cut a 45-degree control joint if the sidewalks turn 90 degrees. Seal Concrete with a special "cure and seal product" as it hardens. - Finish to be a broom finish. - Elevation of the sidewalks will be determined on site with the contractor and the project manager. Topsoil , Seed, Biodegradable mats - Each site to receive 4" to 6" of clean topsoil , along with seed, and biodegradable mats. Topsoil to be rolled or tamped down. We are looking to achieve topsoil , seed, and mats approximately 20 feet all around the home. We understand that some areas will be less than 20 feet. Clear away existing weed growth, to start with a clean slate. All spoils, weeds, rocks, sticks, fallen trees etc. are expected to be removed and disposed of from each site. You will need to meet with each homeowner (4) to discuss this area as to what the owner wants. The homeowners have been living in these units for approximately 2 years so some have developed sheds, flowers, and even rock around some of the structures. If adding 4" to 6" of topsoil over existing soil brings finish grade above the concrete slab there are two ways to approach this without removing Styrofoam below grade. Remove existing soil that sits on the Styrofoam and replace with topsoil assuming the Styrofoam was installed low enough. Another approach would be to cut into the existing block and add aluminum flashing to prevent water from leaking into the crawlspace as you place topsoil over all existing soil. Site Clearing - 72909 Maple St and 73276 West Denomie St. will need some site clearing. This will need to be discussed with the owners. West Denomie St may need a few trees cut down with removal of stumps or stumps could just be grinded down
