Site work and paving for a civil project in Newton, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The City of Newton will receive bids for the Street Improvements - GLO CDBG DRRP Program - GLO DRRP Contract No. 25-141-004-F329 Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: Reconstruction of drainage structures along Magnolia St to include grateinlets, storm sewer piping regrading of existing ditches and reseeding disturbed areas. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to City of Newton or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Cash currency is not acceptable as bid surety and is not to be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Granting Agency, Texas General Land Oce (GLO) and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin. Funding for this project is covered under Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. All eligible bidders must comply with Section 3 requirements in regards to meeting or exceeding the required objectives for both hiring and subcontracting. In accordance with these objectives, contractors are required to direct their newly created employment and/or subcontracting opportunities to Section 3 Residents and Business Concerns. City of Newton reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Newton for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
