Site work and paving for a civil project in Sheppton, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The East Union Township will receive bids for the 2026 Paving Project Work includes paving and drainage. The contract will be awarded publicly at future Supervisors meeting. Bid results will be available online Question Deadline 09/09/2026 at 2:00 PM ET Any questions are to be submitted electronically. This bid is for a public works contract and bidder is subject to the provisions, forms, duties, obligations and penalties of the Public Works Employment Verification Act. The Contractor shall be a PennDOT prequalified prime paving contractor or otherwise approved and be required to comply with the provisions of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act in providing equal employment opportunities. PA Prevailing Wage requirements will be required. The Township reserves the right to reject any Bids or waive any irregularities. Bids may be held for 60 days after opening, however awarding of the contract to the lowest responsible bidder may be delayed 120 days in order to obtain other approvals. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond and payment bond equal to 100% of the Contract price. The Township is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The contractor shall pave the roadways as indicated in the Contract Documents and as marked in the field. Work shall include pavement placement, grade adjustments of existing inlets and manholes as required to match proposed finished grades, placement of topsoil and seed in disturbed areas, and placement of shoulder backup along the roadway as neceessary. Incidental items shall include sweeping of the roadway, tack coating, paving notches, drives, approaches, sealing of joints, and all other work necessary to provide a complete and satisfactory installation. The Contractor shall properly dispose of all excess and unsuitable excavated material. Milled material can be used as shoulder back-up where needed, extra material to be delivered to Township and remains Township property.
