Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Mount Airy, Maryland. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; and playground / park / athletic field.

Installation of sediment control measures, earthwork, mass grading, storm drain structures and pipe, park roads and parking lots, site furnishings, signage, fencing, gates, athletic courts, and landscaping, plus installation of a temporary construction trailer. Bonds: Bid Bond required (unspecified amount). General Conditions Superintendent, construction trailer, SCE, fencing, O&Ms, as-builts and required certifications, startup and testing, training and demonstration, warranties, bonds and insurance. 1). Perimeter security fence to be installed around entire work area to block public access. 2). The Phase 2 construction entrance, trailer pad site, and temporary power supply will remain for use by the Phase 2A General Contractor. GC is responsible for providing a new construction trailer and hooking it up to the power source. Note: The existing pole can be used to tie into power, however, it will require inspection before a wire can be hung on it. 3). The GC is responsible for all connection, installation, inspection, and other associated fees for electric service, along with metering and service charges until acceptance by the Owner. Earthwork and Utilities Earthwork to include rough and fine grading for all Base Bid features,. Utility work includes furnishing and installing water lines throughout Phase 2A and stub ups at all add alternate features, electrical conduits and stub ups at all add alternate features including the shelters and sports courts, light pole bases and junction boxes, all storm drain pipes , structures and riprap, and construction of all bioretention facilities. Note: The site was mass graded with min. 6" topsoil to final grade tolerances of +/- 0.1' of design grade and as shown on the As-Built Plans . Earthwork in Phase 2A must take into account excavation to subgrade for all paved areas. Areas outlined in red on the Site Plan sheets were constructed and graded as part of the previous phase and are not to be disturbed without permission from the County, except for construction of BRA's # 1 and #2 and minor grading for the installation of the vaulted restroom and water treatment building at Parking Lot #8 and the vaulted restroom near the existing playground. 3. Pave Existing Park Road (completed in Phase 2) Install surface asphalt course. Include all speed humps, striping, pavement markings, and regulatory signs. Construct asphalt apron at Jesse Smith Road. 4. New Park Loop Road and Parking Lots 5, 6, 7, and 8 Fine grade loop road and parking lots. Pave loop road and parking lots. Note that Parking Lot 5 is permeable pavement. Include all speed humps, striping and pavement markings, regulatory and directional signage, wheel stops, hinged bollards, concrete curbing, and park gates. Include all work necessary to furnish and install site lighting along the park road and parking lots as shown on the Plans. Landscaping for all parking lots and bioretention facilities as shown on the Landscape Plans. Contractor shall provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary to have a complete and finished product including all necessary preparation for functional or operational equipment. Perform Work of Contract under a fixed cost contract with the Owner in accordance with the Conditions of Contract.
