The planned MG building in Alton is expected to use similar building systems that are being used on a new MG in Jefferson, Iowa, currently under construction. Plans and Specifications for the Jefferson project are provided with this RFP to describe the DOT's current thinking about building systems planned for Alton MG. While the DOT does not anticipate any significant design changes to the shown primary building systems, we will work with the selected CMaR to explore alternative options to promote operational efficiency, improve energy efficiency, improve building life span, reduce maintenance costs, and reduce overall budget. Suggestions and value engineering opinions are to be included in services, but primary base of design is not anticipated to change.The new facility will be a single story, sprinklered building. The construction will consist of concrete foundations, slabs on grade, precast insulated load bearing wall panels and an EPDM roofing system over acoustical steel deck and supporting steel joists and girders. A preliminary floor plan and elevations for the Alton facility are included in this package. 100% Construction Documents and Specifications for the Jefferson MG project are.included as a reference for Architectural , MEP, Civil , and Structural disciplines that will be similar to those in the Alton project. The Architectural Services team of the DOT plans for the project to be completed in a single phase. All construction must be completed and appropriated funds expended by June 30, 2029.
