The project goal is to stabilize the erosion risk that threatens Pelots Point Road through bioengineering processes that provide additional water quality and habitat benefits on the lakeshore setting. The project is located within the Town Right of Way and on private land. The project work area is approximately 150 feet long and the bank is approximately 8 feet tall. The stone toe will be approximately 3.5 feet tall, and two to three layers of 16-inch encapsulated soil lifts will be installed above the stone. Please note that the stone toe will be set directly on bedrock and will require hammering to provide stable contact. Above soil lifts, grading will continue to meet road shoulder elevation, extending the shoulder in the most eroded areas. Approximately 27 CY of excess cut material is anticipated. The contractor shall be responsible for hauling excess fill materials off site and proper disposal . Fill shall not be within wetlands or floodplain corridors and will require prior approval to be coordinated with FEA and the Town . The contractor will be responsible for plantings within soil lifts and on slope according to the planting plan.
