The New Trier Township High School District 203 Board of Education is accepting bids only from mechanical contractors for a mechanical renovation project at their freshmen campus in Northfield, Illinois . The mechanical contractor will act as the project general contractor and responsible for all work . Bids will not be accepted from firms other than mechanical contractors . The general scope of work is a renovation of the existing mechanical systems serving the Cornog Auditorium and related spaces in Building E at the New Trier High School's Northfield Campus . The general scope of work includes providing all labor, materials , machinery, tools , equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following : temporary facilities and controls, cutting and patching existing construction and finishes, general commissioning , selective demolition, miscellaneous cast-in-place concrete, cutting & patching existing roof systems and flashings, penetration firestopping, joint sealants, acoustical panel ceilings, interior painting, fire- suppression sprinkler systems , plumbing , heating, ventilating and air-conditioning ( HVAC ) , commissioning of HVAC , instrumentation and control devices for HVAC, direct-digital controls system for HVAC , hydronic piping, hydronic specialties , HVAC pipe and duct insulation, hydronic pumps , HVAC water treatment, air duct accessories, air- handling units , welding, terminal heating and cooling units, electrical power, switchboards , panelboards , wiring devices, enclosed switches , surge protection devices , interior lighting, lighting controls , extension/modification of existing fire alarm system , and all other labor, materials, and accessories required for a complete and proper installation. The work site is located in Building E at New Trier High School , Northfield Campus, 7 Happ Road , Northfield, IL 60093. Onsite construction will commence approximately on Monday , June 7 , 2027 or sooner, dependent on actual school snow days and school events . The Contractor must achieve Substantial Completion for all work on or before Friday, August 13 , 2027. Liquidated damages apply to the Substantial Completion date . A Bidder's failure to submit the required prequalification documentation may be considered grounds for rejection of the Contractor's bid. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent ( 10 % ) of the Base Bid . The successful bidder will be required to furnish construction performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the Contract Sum . Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers , workmen , and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act ( 820 ILCS 130 /1-12 ) . The Contractor will be required to submit electronic copies of their certified payrolls with each application for payment using the Illinois Department of Labor's Prevailing Wage Portal .
