Replace vault toilet roofs throughout White Pines and Castle Rock parks. DNR White Pines - Replace Vault Toilet Roofs LOCATION : White Pines Forest State Park 6712 West Pines Road Mt. Morris, IL 61054 Ogle County. Castle Rock State Park 1365 W. Castle Rd. Oregon, IL 61061 Ogle County. The work will consist of removing and replacing ten (10) vault toilet roofs at White Pines Forest State Park and one (1) vault toilet roof at Castle Rock State Park. This work is approximately 2103 sq. ft. of roof area. The contractor will provide all labor, equipment and materials needed to remove the existing roof system , including the skylights. It will also include installing a new stone coated steel roofing system described below on all roofs. The contractor needs to be familiar with the different types of metal roofing systems available, some require batten strips to be installed , while others can be directly attached to the decking /synthetic underlayment the same as standard shingles. The roof will receive new roofing material consisting of re-flash roof penetrations for exhaust vents and plumbing vents, drip edge, ice and water shield, synthetic underlayment, sky lights including any decking needed to close up roof decking and any material and work to finish off the inside ceiling of the vault toilet to the new sky light, ridge vent and stone coated steel roofing system. There is fascia removal and installing new fascia and flashing Castle Rock all around the toilet along with removal and replacement of siding on gable ends of building. There is some fascia removal and soffit repairs at White Pines Forest toilets (407724 & 461303). Refer to the attached Roof Replacement Schedule and other attachments for a complete list of the buildings and items involved for each. The contractor shall provide all labor and materials necessary and reasonably incidental to the completion of the project. Decking: Include up to one 4'x8' sheet of 5/8" plywood decking per building for replacing areas around skylight penetrations or water damage. Any alternations needed to the plywood ceilings to accommodate changing skylights shall be covered with wood trim if minor, or with replacement of the full piece, and painted to match the rest of the building interior. Underlayment: The decking must be covered with synthetic material that meets manufacturer's specifications prior to the new roofing system being installed. Apply number of plies required by the governing code, or at least one ply, with each ply overlapping the previous ply a minimum of 6 inches and ends lapped at least 18 inches. Valleys, install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions with a minimum 6-inch overlap in direction of flow. Ice and Water Shield: Install ice and water shield over the whole of the roof as recommended by the manufacturer. Ice and water shield: composite rubberized asphalt and polyethylene film, self-adhesive. Installation: General comment, comply with manufacturer's written instruction of product and applications indicated, unless more stringent code requirements apply. Fasteners: Only non-exposed fasteners will be accepted for attachment. Use a minimum of at least 5 corrosion resistant screws per panel, minimum #9 Hex (1/4" diameter) x 2-1/2" long. Use fasteners of sufficient length to penetrate through the sheathing (deck) by at least 1/2 ". Follow manufacturer's recommendation regarding proper screw size and length required for attachment and the standard number of fasteners required per panel if it exceeds what is listed above. Starter Clips and Drip Edge: Follow manufacturer's recommendations regarding the type of starter clip and drip edge used for proper installation. Some manufacturers incorporate these two items into one piece. Ridge Vent: Include manufacturer's recommended ridge vent installation Flashing: Install as indicated on approved submittals and in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions. Rake and Gable Channel : Follow manufacturer's recommendations regarding the type of trim required for fastening / installation of the rake and gables. Roof Penetrations: Properly flash all roof penetrations per manufacturer's recommendations. Using underpan drains, pipe flashing, and roof grade sealants / adhesives or other specified connections to make the penetration watertight. Fascia, Soffit, Siding: Remove and replace deteriorated materials in kind per quantities called out in the Schedule. Paint as required to uniformly match color of adjacent materials.
