Restoration and improvement of the municipal baseball infield, including soil supply, delivery, grading, laser leveling, and installation of infield conditioner/topdressing. 1. Infield Material – Supply and Delivery Furnish and deliver 2,000 tons of quality baseball infield soil/dirt. Include all transportation, delivery, unloading, and staging costs. The bid must identify the proposed soil composition and mix ratio, including the percentages of sand, silt, clay, and other components, as applicable. The Village reserves the right to request material samples and/or additional product information prior to awarding the contract. 2. Laser Leveling and Grading Distribute and grade the delivered infield material across the designated playing surface. Laser level and precisely establish the finished grade. Establish an approximate 2% slope from the center of the infield toward the outer edges to promote proper surface drainage. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the grading and leveling. 3. Infield Conditioner / Topdressing Furnish and evenly apply a premium baseball infield conditioner, such as Turface, DuraEdge, or approved equivalent. Apply conditioner at an average finished depth of approximately 0.5 inches across the designated infield surface. The proposed product shall be identified in the bid, including manufacturer and product name. Application shall occur following completion of final grading and leveling.
