ROJECT SPECIFICATIONS 1. Shim and surface paving of the approximately 3,820' x 21' section of the East Ridge Road from the Route 43 intersection with East Ridge Road to the Athens-Cornville town line, with 1.5" of surface pavement. 2. Cut out corner and resurface corner intersection of Route 43 and East Ridge Rd. 3. Bids are to include sweeping, traffic control, tack coat and other preparations needed prior to the placement of the pavement. 4. All mixes and placement methods are to meet the MAINE DOT most recent Standard Specifications. 5. All butt joints are to be ground at beginning and ending points with a gradual transition. 6. Paved driveways are to be ground and have a gradual transition from the road to the driveway even if it means going back into the driveway. 7. Gravel driveways are to be kicked out at least a foot and tapered down. 8. Both lanes shall be matched in before closing the job down for the day unless approved by a Municipal Official. If approved, the contractor is responsible for putting up proper signage and markings. Spilled material shall be cleaned up as soon as possible and prior to leaving the work site. 11. Road work shall be completed by November 1, 2025. The Select Board reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, and to accept the bid(s) that is most beneficial and advantageous to the Town of Athens.
