The City is seeking qualified contractors to complete the Front and Elm Street Streetscape Project. The project involves reconstructing the downtown corridor between Front Street, Summer Street, and Elm Street. Work includes roadway and sidewalk reconstruction, drainage improvements, installation of streetscape elements such as plantings, lighting, and pedestrian amenities, utility coordination, traffic management, and ADA-compliant pedestrian accommodations. Bidders are to maintain access to downtown businesses throughout construction. Sealed bids are to be addressed and endorsed as specified, submitted to the designated office by the prescribed deadline, and accepted from pre-selected bidders only. Each bid must use forms provided by the City, include required surety bonds (Contract Performance and Payment Surety Bond, each for 100 percent of the contract price), and a USB flash drive containing a PDF of all bid materials. All work must comply with applicable State laws and the State of Maine, Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications, March 2020 Edition. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
