Site work and paving for a civil project in Bath, Maine. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Catch basins on Union St and Granite St are connected to the sanitary sewer. These contribute to combined sewer overflows (CSO) in the Commercial Street drainage area. Pavement on both streets is in need of rehabilitation. Separate catch basins from the sanitary sewer and connect them to new and existing storm drains. Replace sanitary sewer. Repave both streets. Improve the sidewalk on Granite Street. This work must be coordinated with the Union-Castine-Washington sidewalk project and water district work to replace the water main on Union St. As of October 13, 2025, this project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Design work is expected in 2027 with construction to follow in 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
