The City of Brewer, Maine is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: WWTP Miscellaneous Infrastructure Improvements The Project includes the following Work: Work under this project includes, but is not limited to, multiple and miscellaneous improvements at the Brewer Wastewater Treatment Plant including Base Bid - existing grit screw conveyor drive modifications for Aerated Grit Chamber No. 2, replacement of the existing primary sludge pumps, replacement of existing drain and vent piping in the Operations Building Sludge Thickening Room, replacement of existing drain piping, vent piping and floor drains in the Chlorination Building; new dissolved oxygen probe systems and blower PLC control modifications, minor pipe sealing and concrete wall crack repair, asbestos removal, minor concrete work, metals fabrication, railings and grating, electrical, SCADA system modifications, incidentals and all work required for construction of a complete project and as part of the Base Bid. Alternate Bid No. 1 includes replacement of the existing lower mechanism for Sludge Thickener No. 1. Alternate Bid No. 2 includes replacement of existing fire doors throughout the Operations Building. Alternate Bid No. 3 includes installation of the new aeration basin process water spray system. Alternate Bid No. 4 includes demolition of the existing clarifier mechanisms for Final Clarifiers No. 1 & No. 2 and installation of new access platforms. Alternate Bid No. 5 includes replacement of an existing process water duplex strainer and process water pump concrete supports. Alternate Bid No. 6 includes debris removal from process tanks.
