As of July 29, 2025 Project has not been awarded, Award will be on August 12, 2025 For providing and installing an HDPE solid wall liner pipe and associated grout for a culvert slipline project in the City of Brewer. An existing 54 x 38 metal arch pipe is approaching failure on South Brewer Drive between house #19 and #26. The City of Brewer is looking for a Contractor to supply and install a new 48.5 x 34 ovalized HDPE solid wall liner pipe. The Contractor will also be responsible for grouting in the liner pipe. The City of Brewer Public Works crew will be doing the clearing work and other work in preparation for the sliplining. They will also be assisting with pushing the pipe into the existing culvert, as needed, installing all necessary riprap, and making all channel adjustments. The Contractor will be responsible for clean up of their associated materials and waste products for their portion of the project. Timing of this project will need to be coordinated with the City Public Works Director after the contract is awarded and must be completed before October 17, 2025. LINER PIPE The liner pipe for this project will be 48.5"x34" ovalized HDPE solid wall pipe. The total length of the installation shall be 40'. The Contractor should note that the proposed liner pipe is slightly longer than the existing culvert pipe and a concrete base for the liner pipe to set on will be required as part of this contract. The owner is extending the pipe to address an issue with the slope on the outlet end. The work to dewater and prepare around the outlet for the installation of the concrete base will be included as part of this contract. All items for furnishing and installing the liner pipe should be included as part of this work, other than an excavator to assist in sliding the pipe in place. This contract also includes all work required to prepare the inside of the existing culvert to receive the slipline. GROUT Annular space cellular grout will be used to grout the void areas between the liner and existing pipe. Concrete bulkheads will be constructed on the inlet and outlet ends, 2" PVC vents and observation ports will then be installed through the bulkheads. Construction of the bulkheads will be included as part of this project scope. After filling the space between the liner and existing pipe, the 2" PVC ports shall be removed and the bulkheads shall be faced off with hydraulic cement. Dewatering of the site during bulkhead and grouting operations will be required and will be the responsibility of the contractor. All materials and labor necessary to complete this work shall be included in the project price. REQUIRED SUBMITTALS The following is a list of submittals that will be required to be submitted by the Contractor for approval by the Engineer prior to these materials being brought to the job site for installation: Liner Pipe Grout Mix Contract award is expected by or around August 12, 2025.
