Rebuild the back wall of the Salt Shed including installation of rough-sawn studs, sill plates, end wall bracing, lateral bracing, diagonal bracing, exterior siding installation, and interior plywood sheathing. The Town of Harpswell is now accepting bids for the re- building of the back wall of the Salt Shed at Community Drive near the Transfer Station. See Scope of Work below and Diagram attached: Bring undamaged , displaced framing back to straight and plumb. Install 2 x 8 Rough-sawn (RS) studs at 16 on center on RS 2 x 8 sill plates on sill seal . Rebuild end wall bracing to match front gable bracing ( RS) 2 x 6 See 3A attached Add lateral bracing 2 x 6 RS above end wall bracing, 3 at 10d nail at each brace crossing. GRK R4# 10 screws 2 into Gluelam Rafters at ends. See 3A in green attached Diagonal bracing 2x 6RS 3 at 10d Nail at each brace crossing. See 3A in red attached Add 5 RS 2 x 8 centered on double plate with 8 at GRK R4 # 10 screws 4 top, 4 bottoms 2 minimum into studs. To be beside and fastened to wall bracing. Where upper and lower studs do not align install 2 x 8 x 4 minimum sister to existing stud as needed . See 3B attached Matching existing exterior siding: Weather lap and fasten with self drilling 1 stainless steel screws with EPDM washers. Sheath interior with 3/4 plywood up to approximately 8' from concrete foundation with staggered joints.
