RSU #73 is soliciting bids for snow removal, sanding and salting at the Districts Schools, Bus Garage, roadways and parking lots. The bidder agrees to plow and/or salt and sand critical areas by 6:00 AM and again prior to 2:00 PM dismissal time on days when school is in session. To plow, salt and sand on an as needed basis or request by the district. During stormy days when school is in session, or a school function is taking place, snow should never be allowed to accumulate more than 2 inches in depth before plowing, sanding or salting occurs to allow safe access or exiting. Areas where snow needs to be hauled will be done at the district's request. The bidder also agrees to do all sanding or salting with a truck mounted automatic sander, and that all sand used will contain at least 100 lbs. of salt mixture per cubic yard. The areas included in this bid: In Jay: o All school road leading to schools or parking areas o Transportation garage roadway and parking lots o High school parking area o Middle school parking area o Elementary school parking area and playground In Livermore Falls: o Central Office parking area (sanding only) In Livermore: o Primary school area and parking lots, including church parking lot The School Board would consider a one, two or three (3) year contract. The School Board would also consider areas to be bid individually, or as a whole. The following areas are: 1. Community Drive, High School and Middle School area's 2. Tiger Drive, School Bus Road, Elementary and Bus Garage area. 3. Spruce Mountain Primary School parking lot and church parking lot. Bidders are requested to list the size and types of equipment to be used, personnel employed, and the annual cost of performing the snow removal / sanding operation on the enclosed bid form. Bidders are also required to furnish their certificate of insurance with the enclosed bid form, as well as two references from a past snow removal experience. Please be advised that RSU #73 reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bid proposals, waive any informalities and select a bid proposal that is not the lowest price, or to select a bid proposal it deems in the best interest of the district. Further, the district shall be the sole judge of whether or not items proposed to be supplied are similar and approved equal to those specified.
