The project consists of pavement repairs from MM 0.0 to MM 109.10. The pavement rehabilitation work includes milling and paving at various locations, pavement crack repair, sweeping, saw cutting, and all other work incidental thereto, to be completed in accordance with the Plans and Specifications. All necessary traffic control for this contract will be performed by the Authority. Bids will be accepted from contractors prequalified by the Maine Department of Transportation for Paving or Highway Construction Projects. All other bids may be rejected. The project includes a wage determination developed by the State of Maine Department of Labor. Bids may be submitted electronically or as paper bids, with the paper copy taking precedence if dual bids are submitted. All work shall be governed by the Standard Specifications and Standard Details of the State of Maine Department of Transportation, along with the Best Management Practices for Erosion and Sediment Control. Proposals must be accompanied by an original bid bond, certified or cashier's check payable to the Maine Turnpike Authority in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total proposal amount, but not less than $500. The awarded bidder must furnish a surety corporation bond satisfactory to the Authority for the total amount of the proposal. Proposals must be made upon the provided forms and enclosed in the special addressed envelope provided, bearing the name and address of the bidder, the contract name, and the proposal opening date and time on the outside. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to accept the proposal which in its sole judgment best serves its interests.
