Description

Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Portland, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

PROJECT LOCATION: The project areas include the following: 1. Ocean Avenue south side sidewalks from Chenery Street to Read Street where specified on plans. 2. Ocean Avenue north side sidewalks from Walton Street to Read Street where specified on plans. OUTLINE OF WORK: The project includes, but, is not limited to the following items: 1. Demolition of the existing sidewalk, including brick, bituminous or concrete segments. 2. Installation of new ADA compliant concrete sidewalk where specified. 3. Installation of new and reset granite curb. 4. Reconstruction of pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards. It is expected that meeting ADA standards may be challenging in some locations within the project area due to complexities of existing grading and site features, but doing so is critical to the project. 5. Installation of esplanade. 6. Pavement markings. 7. Installation of 20" diameter RRFB bases at Ocean Ave Elementary School and Walton Street intersections 8.
