Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a municipal facility in Skowhegan, Maine. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for the addition of a 30,000-square-foot, three-story above grade municipal facility.
The proposed site of the new Somerset County Judicial Center will be at 55 Court Street in Skowhegan. We will be adding to the existing courthouse a 30,000 square foot three-story addition. It will feature four courtrooms (two jury and two non-jury), at least eight public conference rooms, and an enlarged area for a clerk’s office. As of October 14, 2025, construction is expected to take place between April 2026 and December 2027. Information regarding a design firm has not yet been determined. The scope of services for this project includes, but may not be limited to, schedule and cost estimating, preliminary design, design development, contract documents, and administration of bidding and construction. The AE Consultant may be required to coordinate this work or additional work with other consultants contracted by the Owner. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
