This project is an interior and utility revitaliaztion to provide better living circumstances for State of Maine DOC employees stationed at the Maine State Prison. The goal of this project is to modernize and address deficiencies in the existing 1970's guard housing. Three houses exist on site currently, with House 2 set to be demolished. House 1 and 3 are to be rehabilitated for continued use. Please note that work can not be done simultaneously on both houses, as the residents in the active work-zone house will be relocated to the other living quarters during construction. The contract shall designate the Substantial Completion Date on or before 01 January 2027, and the Contract Final Completion Date on or before 15 January 2027. Any bid received after the noted time will not be considered a valid bid and will remain unopened. Any bid submitted by any other means will not be considered a valid bid. In certain circumstances, the Bureau of General Services may require the Bidder to surrender a valid paper copy of the bid form or the bid security document. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids as may best serve the interest of the Owner. Questions and comments regarding the project design specifications or drawings shall be directed in writing to the Consultant during the bid period prior to the question and comment deadline of 5:00 p.m. on 30 October 2025.
