Southwest Irvinedale Drive Transmission Main - Phase 1 project includes the installation of water main generally located along the north side of Oralabor Road from SW Edgewood Lane to SW Irvinedale Drive, and along the east side of SW Irvinedale Drive from Oralabor Road to the SW Water Tower. The Construction Improvements consists of approximately 6,800 linear feet of 24" water main installation. Approximately 6,200 linear feet of main will be installed using conventional trench installation and the remainder will be installed using horizontal directional drilling. Minor drainage and site improvements will occur through the ditch corridor. Other associated work to occur on site includes traffic control, erosion control, seeding, and other miscellaneous work necessary to complete the project. The Contractor shall substantially complete the project within eighty (80) working days. Substantially complete shall be defined as all water main installation, drainage, and minor site improvements construction being completed and placed in service. Should the Contractor fail to substantially complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not substantially completed within the designated Contract term(s). The Contractor shall fully complete the project within twenty (20) working days after the project has been substantially completed. Fully complete shall be defined as all final grading and surface restoration being completed, and all improvements being ready for final acceptance. Should the Contractor fail to fully complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not fully completed within the designated Contract term(s). The City of Ankeny does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
