Site work for a water / sewer project in Jupiter, Florida. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Update: Many of the existing watermains in the Loxahatchee River Road area were constructed in 1977 using asbestos cement (AC) pipe of substandard size for today's fire protection requirements. The AC pipe has surpassed its 40 year useful life and failures occur frequently. The watermain should be replaced to improve system reliability and fire protection. Under this project AC watermains, valves and hydrants will be replaced on Williamson Road, Sullivan Road, and Shirley Drive. Existing watermains on Old Fort Jupiter (OFJ) Road and Old Orange Road will be extended to provide a looped system, eliminating dead-ends and improving water quality. This project supports the Town's Strategic Plan Results of Fiscal Responsibility and Safety by managing the renewal and replacement of water system assets to provide well maintained neighborhood infrastructure. These activities enable the Utility to provide established levels of service for safe and reliable drinking water plus necessary fire protection. Phase I completed in 2019, included replacing watermains on Keith and Urdea Roads. In 2020, the Loxahatchee River Road aerial culvert crossing was replaced with a subaqueous crossing concurrently with bridge improvements by PBC. The scope for Phase 2 improvements was expanded to include OFJ Road and Old Orange Road, which were originally programmed for FY29 but were moved up to recognize economies of scale due to proximity of work areas with this project.
