Many of the existing watermains in the Loxahatchee River Road area were constructed in 1977 using asbestos cement (AC) pipe of substandard size for today's fire protection requirements. The AC pipe has surpassed its 40 year useful life and should be replaced to improve system reliability and fire protection. Under this project phase AC watermains, valves and hydrants will be replaced on Williamson Road, Sullivan Road, Shirley Drive, and the existing watermain on Old Fort Jupiter Road will be extended west to tie into the existing watermain on Loxahatchee River Road to eliminate an existing watermain deadend. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of May 28,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
